No 4 Harbour Court
Porthmadog - First Floor Apartment - Sleeps 4
Tucked away in a quiet backwater, yet conveniently placed for local amenities.
Welcome to No. 4 Harbour Court. This quayside apartment sleeps 4 and is a mirror image of the ground floor apartment, but has different décor.
The apartment is tucked away in a peaceful backwater and yet close to all local amenities. Set in a grade II listed building some 150 years old, it offers old world charm yet with modern facilities for your comfort.
It is tastefully furnished with a fully equipped kitchen, should home cooking be on the menu, and there's even a dishwasher to make light work of washing the dishes.
There is a lounge with dining area, a bathroom with a shower over the bath, and two bedrooms - a double and a twin.
A combi boiler supplies the gas central heating and hot water offering a cosy welcome even during the cooler months.
Outside there is private parking, seating for two on the balcony at the top to the stairs, and the use of a seating area in the courtyard.
No matter what time of year we look forward to giving you a hearty Welsh welcome to Pothmadog and Harbour Court.

Porthmadog or in its Anglicized version Portmadoc, is a small coastal town and community in the Eifionydd area of Gwynedd, in Wales.
The town developed in the 19th century as a port exporting slate to England and around the world. Since the decline of the slate industry it has become an important shopping centre for the surrounding area and a popular tourist destination.
It has easy access to the Snowdonia National Park and is the terminus of the Ffestiniog Railway. In 1987 the National Eisteddfod was held in Porthmadog. The community includes the nearby villages of Borth-y-Gest, Morfa Bychan and Tremadog.
Before Porthmadog was developed, this was the starting point of a major crossing over the wide and dangerous Glaslyn estuary, and locals earned money by guiding travelers across the treacherous sands of Traeth Mawr to Harlech.
On the shore is another nature reserve, Pen y Banc, which is a mixture of coastal rocks, secluded sandy coves and mixed woodland. Established in 1996, it is a good spot to see wading birds, and the beaches attract large numbers of visitors. The mild climate results in a wide variety of vegetation, from gorse and heather through to blackthorn, crab apple, and birch.
Sea angling is popular in the coastal villages. At Borth-y-Gest, flounders, bass, mullet, whiting and mackerel can all be caught.
A cycle route now crosses the Cob, forming part of Lôn Las Cymru, the Welsh national cycle route. The route, from Holyhead in the north to either Cardiff or Chepstow in the south, is 250 miles long and crosses three distinct mountain ranges.
With so Much to do and see in the local area this is truly a Welsh Jewel not to be missed.

Great location
We stayed here for three nights in May and it made our weekend! The apartment is cosy, the beds are comfortable and it is very well equipped. It’s location close to the centre of Porthmadog and close to bus links was perfect for us as we didn’t have a car. It was easy to access the local tourist spots, we visited Portmeiron, Harlech and Snowdonia over the weekend! There is seating in the courtyard which was lovely in the evenings and the area was very quiet. Yvette was very helpful and available to answer all queries. I would highly recommend this accomodation and hope to return in the future.
Snug and comfortable. Would be good to come back to for a winter break.
Lovely property, clean and comfortable. Well equipped so eating in no problem but plenty of places in the town and surrounding area to eat out if you want. Lovely and snug with the wood burner on so would be a good place to visit for a winter break.
Good coastal and beach walks and there is always Portmeirion to visit!!
Perfect 10/10
Beautiful cottage, everything provided for home comfort, clean & tidy. Perfect for touring. Ideally placed – with private parking -close to Harbour, shops/cafes and Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland (Heritage) Railways. What else could you need. Thanks to Yvette x
Beautiful Cottage
Beautiful cottage and perfectly located for the harbour & the town centre. The facilities are superb, kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms all have real charm alongside mod cons.
Despite the constant rain we really enjoyed our stay. The local cafe/bar by the harbour is lovely for a drink or a meal. Thankyou Yvette for a lovely welcome and a lovely, comfortable cottage.
Highly Recommended
The is a lovely, well appointed cottage , located in a quiet location, just a stone’s throw from both Porthmadog harbour and the town high street. It has everything you need including off street parking which is difficult to find for self catering places n the town itself. The cottage has everything you need for a restful stay. The Blaenau Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland railways are a short walk away. Local beaches include Black Rock Sands and Harlech Beach, both a short drive away.
Perfect Spot for all Amenities and TRAINS
The cottage is situated in a quiet courtyard by the harbour but only 5 mins walk from both the High St. and the FFestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways. It’s also worth considering a trip on the main coastal railway. (Station at the other end of the town.) We had good weather, and fortunately we were down the slate cavern on the only poor day. Portmeirion (the Prisoner) is only 10 mins. drive. The cottage is lovely – I particularly liked the cosy dining area. Thanks Yvette.
Family holiday
This is our second time staying at Harbour Court, first time 2 years ago in the 2 bedroom apartment. Decided on the cottage to give us more room as a family – great location, off road parking everything in the cottage you would need from hairdryer to dishwasher tablets!! Near to the beautiful Harlechl beach, Caernarfon, Morfa Nefyn, Portmerion village etc. Close to a selection of pubs, shops places to eat and of course the harbour for crabbing and steam train. Hope to return one day!
Great Base for an action packed long weekend
No. 5 Harbour court was an excellent base for our short weekend break. The apartment was spacious and well renovated and Yvette was very helpful. We recommend hidden gem of Borth Y Gest beach only a 15 minute walk away as well as the Ffestiniog railway.
A fabulous ground floor holiday apartment
A charming apartment, very comfortable and an excellent location with everything you could possibly need. It is very quiet, being close to the harbour, but the shops are also within easy walking distance. A perfect centre for exploring the coast and also the mountains. The layout is ideal for two couples who want to go on holiday together, having a bath with shower over and also a separate shower room, both with washbasin and toilet. Yvette was most helpful. I highly recommend it
What a surprise
The accommodation lived up to expectations and was beautiful to look at and very well appointed. We slept very well as it was very peaceful. There is so much to do in the area, we went to look at gardens and much to our regret didn’t have time to ride the trains or go up Snowdon. We had some good walks the beaches are beautiful with plenty of walking paths. We ate very well over 4 nights at Yr Hen Fecws Restaurant where the food was so good we looked forward to finishing off our day there
Repeat Visitor
I have stayed in this apartment and the sister apartment downstairs at least a dozen times in the last fifteen years. They are my “home from home” for visiting North Wales in the summer. That tells you how good they are!
Family holiday
Visited harbour court with myhusband and children aged 11 & 14. Location was 2 minutes walk from the harbour and the town of portmadog. The apartment was well equipped with everything you need, even deck chairs which came in very useful for days on the beach!! Yvette was there to meet us when arrived & showed us around the apartment.
Very central location and we were able to visit caenarfon, Portmerion, Harlech beach and black rock sands.
Hope to return one day!

Wonderful little cottage that had everything we needed to enjoy a week exploring this wonderful area. The cottage is in a peaceful area with safe, private parking, but only a few minutes walk from the harbour and main high street, which is a real bonus. Very well equipped and welcoming. Thank you.
